Why is CI Unique?

Creative Interventions takes the lessons learned from the anti-violence movement and brings this back to communities. It shifts from individual solutions which rely on separation and incarceration for safety and invites communities to create new, more holistic approaches to provide safety, justice and healing.

The Creative Interventions approach is unique in that it:

Harnesses the power of the collective/community to end violence — not just individuals

Invites anyone interested in ending violence to participate in collective action —  including survivors, friends, family, community, and people doing harm

Shifts the point of intervention and prevention to those closest to and most impacted by violence — rather than social services and the police

Targets early and all stages of abuse

Aims towards transformation of individuals, families, social networks and communities
